I was born and raised in Oregon and moved to Washington in 2018 on a whim. I knew no one but needed a change in my life. When I started working for the “Y” in 2020 I was treated like part of a family and welcomed with open arms. The experience that the YMCA has been in my life as a child was getting to go too summer camps, getting to meet new kids and make new friends, and the most important learning to swim.
When people think about the “Y” the first thing they might think of is a gym, I feel that the YMCA is more than a gym, it’s a cause. The Y has a mission that is dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. YMCA Child Care is a terrific program created to offer kids a place to grow and thrive in a safe, fun atmosphere. We provide unique activities, field trips, and physical activities through group games, outdoor play and so much more! Unfortunately not all families can use the YMCA services.
Some families may have barriers and need the benefits that our Y offers to help them. With the Y offering Financial Assistance to families in need, gives them the opportunity to learn and grow with the YMCA. Now in a perfect world there would be no need to financial assistance but in reality there is more of a need that most even know about.
Our Annual Campaign is there to help raise money for such assistance. 100% of the money donated to the Annual Campaign is put to use for families who need it most. I am pledging to give as much as I can, please join me in helping with my pledge.
Thank you for your generosity and donation!
